Barbie Island is an island located in the center of Saône in Lyon, which is a highlight of the legends of Lyon and a great place for curious walkers. Today, the island is inhabited by a small number of people. It consists of a public part (mud petanque courts, a large garden, a set of games for children) and a private part. There are two important landmarks on the island: the monastery, which was founded in the fifth century, the first monastic institution in Lyon, and the magnificent suspension bridge that extends over the island at the southern end.
