The village of Koprivshtitsa, located in the heart of a mountain range, was once the center of the fight against Ottoman rule and is still today a place of Bulgarian pride. Many tourists are keen to visit it when they come to Bulgaria. It is an open-air museum with many buildings and palaces, which is an outstanding example of the Bulgarian national revival that took place during the nineteenth century AD.
