The Koidula Museum is in the home of Johann Voldemar Jannsen and Lydia Koidula whose lives and activities are presented in the context of the "Estonian Awakening" through a permanent exhibition. The house also has cultural and historical significance as a school for rural people and editor of the weekly Perno Postimees; There is also a newly renovated garden behind the house, where the paths of the Red Abbey lead to an open theatre.
