His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani inaugurated the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in 1992, the initial capacity of the stadium was 4,500 seats, and it was renovated and expanded in 2008 to increase the capacity to 7,000 seats, after adding more booths, lower parts, middle parts and upper parts. Moreover, a tent for VIP visitors and a public square that includes restaurants and entertainment facilities has been added, where the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex, which contains twenty-four courts and many other facilities, is committed to hosting the most important and largest tennis tournaments in the world.
