The museum was founded in 1968 in the building of the historic Prague-Kbely Military Airport, which was the first air base built after the creation of Czechoslovakia in 1918. It is one of the largest aviation museums in Europe. Currently, it has 275 aircraft, of which about 100 are in sheltered indoor halls, and 25 are outdoors, many of which are in warehouses and showrooms. The museum contains many military aircraft that were used in the history of the country. And many aircraft from different countries around the world, and the museum contains aircraft engines, parts of aircraft wings, weapons, uniforms of Air Force soldiers, banners, and many other wonderful things related to aviation.
