Information about Kasuga taisha
It is a Shinto shrine in Nara that was built in 768 AD and rebuilt several times over the centuries. It is the shrine of the Fujiwara family. The interior is famous for its many bronze lanterns, as well as many stone lanterns that lead to the shrine. This shrine has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the “Historic Monuments of Ancient Nara.” The design of this shrine is protected by four columns and contains a treasure house, several different halls and large gates. One of the beautiful aspects of this shrine is the many wisteria trees known as “sonazri.” No Fuji" that blooms in late April and early May.
