One of the largest earthen dams in India, Karapuza Dam is located within the vast green areas of Wayanad on the famous Karapuza River. The construction of the dam began in 1977 and was completed in 2004, and was established for the purpose of irrigating nearby tea plantations. Nearby, visitors can go on long and short hiking trails, camp with families and friends, and rent one of the huts next to the dam and enjoy the beautiful natural scenes.
