The once colorful village of Jodiban Malang was bleak, polluted, and lacked the economic resources to build a healthy community, but eight event management students from a nearby university helped by applying their class skills to the real world, teaming up with a local paint company looking to take on a socially responsible project. She donated more than 6000 pounds of colored paint, and the entire village was painted in cheerful colors that became famous throughout Indonesia.
