Kale-i-Bala Castle or as it is called Faros Castle is one of the most important archaeological sites in Ayder, which is believed to belong to the 14th century. The castle was characterized by a rectangular building on a steep cliff. The average length of the building is 70 meters and its width is 25 meters. The castle gate is located in the northwest direction. Today, some remains of the stone fortress stand as testimony to its antiquity, and to the nobility of this city.
