Since 1853, the country's worst scoundrels and murderers have been imprisoned within the bleak walls of Kakulanmaki Hill, and the futures of thousands of men have been lost behind iron doors and granite stone walls. Kakulanmaki Hill Museum will present these stories to visitors. In the prison's old horse stables, there is a collection of photographs and artifacts dating back a hundred years, and a large part of the artifacts are donations from the families of former Kakula prison guards.
