Jvari Monastery is a Georgian Orthodox monastery of the sixth century, one of the most important monuments in Georgia, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is a very unique monastery as it is one of the examples of architecture from the sixth century, and is still in very excellent condition, which made the study of the site easy. The monastery was built on top of Mount Jvari, specifically at an altitude of 656 above sea level. It is built in such a way that it merges with the surrounding nature in a stunning landscape.
