Jabal Shams is the highest mountain in the Sultanate of Oman. It is located in the heart of the Western Hajar Mountains in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate. It is one of the attractive and worth exploring attractions, with stunning views of the surrounding landscapes, the most important of which is Wadi Al Ghoul known as the “Grand Canyon of Oman.” With its mild climate and exciting trekking trails, Jebel Shams has a number of hiking trails, the most famous of which is the Reem Walk to the abandoned village of Al Sab, which was once home to about 15 families who built their cliffside homes.
