Information about Jakovali Hassan Mosque
The origins of Yakuvali Hassan Mosque go back to the late sixteenth century AD. It is considered one of the oldest mosques in Hungary. It was built during the time of the Turkish Ottoman Empire. It is distinguished by its rosewood pulpit, which dates back to the period of Turkish rule. After the end of the Turkish occupation of Hungary, this mosque was converted into a small church, but it retained its Baroque style and original furniture of an Islamic character and returned to a mosque as it was. This mosque includes a center dedicated to displaying Turkish handicrafts and historical artifacts that tell a lot about the Ottoman history in Hungary.
