The Women's International Museum of Air and Space was established in 1976 by a group of American women with the aim of documenting the history of women's work in the fields of aviation and space. The museum presents many stories and contributions made by women throughout history in these fields. The museum covers the stories of more than 6,000 women. It is considered the only museum of its kind in the world specialized in documenting the history of women in these two fields.
