Information about Indonesian Museum of Ethnobotany
The Indonesian Museum of Ethnobotani, a botanical museum displaying a collection of cultural and ethnic works across Indonesia, was opened in 1982 by Professor (BJ. Habibi) Minister of Research and Technology at the time. This place contains more than 2,000 artifacts from various regions and islands in Indonesia, and includes items for home use, children's toys, traditional clothing, agricultural equipment, fisheries, and musical instruments, all made from local plant parts, as well as rice, turmeric, tamarind and ginger. And many other traditional Indonesian plants. In other exhibition areas, museum tourism displays traditional hand hats, baskets, mats, and other daily supplies made from parts of palm trees, fishing tools in the form of spears and arrows, and bamboo nets. There are also traditional shields and carvings, and much more. This museum is worth a visit by adults and children.
