A museum in Kochi featuring exhibits and artifacts showing Portuguese influence on art and culture in the region, was established by the late Dr. Joseph Kureethra, who was the bishop of the city. The museum contains many sections, including a section showing the religious influence in which visitors will find altars and crosses from the sixteenth century, and a section showing the artistic influence in which visitors will find paintings and statues, and a crafts section in which visitors will find some crafts made by the Portuguese Indian population.
