The Glass Museum is located near Kassel, and is one of the few museums specializing in glass in Germany, and it was opened in 1987. Here, the glass tradition of North Hesse is preserved, with glass factories playing a major and important role in the country. However, glass products from other manufacturers and designers are also displayed, so that the development of utilitarian glass can be experienced using design classics. The museum receives annually various exhibitions from different parts of the country to display modern and diverse designs.
