The Hungarian Olympic and Sports Museum was established in 1963 with the mandate of a national collector and since 1 July 2012 has been serving as the Directorate of National Sports Centers, and is the only sports museum in Hungary with the power of a national collector. The scope of the collection mainly focuses on the historical territory of Hungary but in terms of sports it covers the whole world; It has a very rich collection, containing more than 800,000 items including Olympic medals, awards, photographs and archived documents, and in the past 25 years the museum has organized more than 200 exhibitions.
