Marina Horta was opened in 1986, and with a capacity of about 300 ships, it is currently the fourth most visited ocean port and one of the most important in the world. It has carried the European Blue Flag since 1987, and its location provides excellent shelter against winds from any direction, making it an essential stop for hundreds of Yachts of different nationalities during their voyages across the North Atlantic. It is a must visit when you are in the Azores, where you can admire the view of the yachts moored there and explore the large open gallery of paintings by all the sailors who passed by.
