The Virgen del Pino hermitage is located in the upper part of El Paso and next to an old royal road and was opened in 1930, and built according to legends where the image of the Virgin appeared on the giant Canary pine tree that stands in the Plaza de la Ermita, and this is the largest tree in the Canary Islands Recent studies estimate its age to be around 600-800 years old.
