Thierry Hermes, a man of German origin, settled with his family in France in 1828, to launch the Hermès brand in 1837, to become today one of the most famous brands that manufacture bags, shoes, leather accessories, shawls and others. At a later period, Charles Emile, son of Thierry Hermès, took over the business from his father and chose the Rue Faubourg-Saintunouri in Paris as the location of the main Hermès store, which is still today.
