The Herder Monument was established in honor of the German philosopher Johann Gottfried Herder, who is considered one of the most important classical philosophers in the history of Weimar and Germany in general. His right hand is on the heart, while in his left hand he holds a text on which the slogan "Light, Love, Life" was written.
