Heidelberg Botanical Garden at the prestigious University of Heidelberg is considered one of the most beautiful botanical gardens in Germany. The garden extends over an area of 2 hectares, and contains indoor and outdoor spaces. The indoor spaces and greenhouses include tropical and Mediterranean plants. The garden was established in the year 1593 and at the time contained 500 plants, but at the present time it contains more than 14,000 plant species collected from different regions around the world.
