Information about Hang Kasturi Mausoleum
The Hang Kasturi Mausoleum is the burial place of Hang Kasturi, a member of the Five Brothers in Arms group led by Hang Tuah who served Sultan Mansor Shah of Malacca during the fifteenth century. The five comrades act as the sultan's bodyguards, and eventually these inseparable friends turn against each other and Hang Kasturi is tasked with killing Hang Tuah, but he does not succeed. This tomb, believed to be over 550 years old, was found behind a decorated gate. Carved in Javanese script, the tomb itself is two-tiered and surrounded by eight short columns, each decorated in a triangular shape.
