Information about Hamamni Persian Baths
The Persian Baths, built by Sultan Said Barghash in the late 19th century between 1870 and 1888, were the first public baths in Zanzibar, and although they are no longer operating, they are in near perfect condition, and there is a nominal entrance fee which goes into the upkeep of the building. Explanatory panels are located in prominent points around the bathrooms and rooms to learn more about this wonderful landmark. You can walk around the area where this hammam building is located for an unforgettable experience.
