The Heidegg Museum is the largest regional museum in Debrecen and one of its main tourist attractions. Its building was built in three phases between 1762 and 1803, and its last expansion took place in 1871, when the new wing was delivered. The museum’s permanent collection has a unique cultural and historical significance, and archaeological, historical, ethnographic and artistic exhibitions present the rich and diverse history of the Hungarian Hedoug region, as well as preserve the material and intellectual values of the region’s culture.
