Information about Haedong Yonggungsa
Haedong Yeongungsa Temple was built in 1376 by the great Buddhist master known as Naong during the Goryeo Dynasty. It is located in northeastern Busan on the rocky seashore, which makes it unique as most other Buddhist temples are built in the mountains. It features the Great Buddha's vision of the sea water, Daeungjeon Main Reserve, Yongwangdang Shrine, Gelpop Sanctuary and a three-storey pagoda with four lions representing joy, anger, sadness and happiness, all overlooking the ocean.
