On April 9, 1940, German troops landed in Norway. As the two countries were at war, a battle lasted between them for two months. Many battles took place between the two armies, and many German and Norwegian soldiers fell, and many soldiers from both sides were captured, and both sides fell into numerous ambushes prepared by each party for the other. These are the historical events on which the Gudbrandsdalen War Memorial Exhibition is based. Opened on May 5, 1995, the exhibition gives you a unique story about war, occupation, and the desperate defense of this country by its inhabitants.
