The Greco-Roman Museum is an important and distinctive imprint of the history of Egypt. The museum was built for the first time in 1892 AD as a small building located on Freedom Road, and in 1895 AD it was moved to the current location near Gamal Abdel Nasser Road. It started with eleven galleries and was gradually expanded in the later stages of renovation. The museum contains a large variety of coins from different countries, arranged in chronological order, dating from 630 BC to the Ottoman era in the nineteenth century, in addition to a number of distinctive stone sculptures and statues of kings and sultans who lived and inhabited this land.
