It is one of the oldest historical mosques in Jordan and an archaeological landmark in the city. Its construction dates back to the Ayyubid and Mamluk eras, and it was recently restored during the reign of King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein. It receives daily local worshipers and visitors, and includes a prayer room for men, a prayer room for women, and ablution facilities. It is distinguished by its antique and beautiful interior design, as well as its beautiful stone structure and high minaret from the outside.
