Information about Gilf El-Kebir National Park
The Gulf Al Kabir National Park is located in the New Valley Governorate on the Libyan-Sudanese border. It was declared a reserve during 2007. It is characterized by sand dune plains along with ancient caves dating back to the prehistoric period. The reserve is also famous for the Nubian sandstones, ancient volcanic craters, mountainous areas and valleys, and there is also one of the largest meteorite fields in the world. The reserve is one of the well-known destinations that attracts many tourists from all over the world to enjoy the adventure of going on safari trips in the desert, climbing mountain tops and watching the stunning landscapes.
