Information about George Enescu Memorial House
George Enescu, who made contemporary Romanian music famous. His talent appealed to Queen Elizabeth, a great artist, and a room in the castle was made available to him so that he could create undisturbed. Launched from the castle his successful career. Although the long trips were mostly abroad, he could not forget the beauty of Sinaia and with the money he earned on his first tour to America, he built a villa here between 1923 and 1926. It then became a stopover between tours. In 1947, the composer, who lives in Paris, donated the castle to the Romanian state, to be used as a resting place for artists. In 1995, the villa became the George Enescu memorial home and was taken care of by the European Cultural Center in Sinaia.
