The Puerta del Carmen is the only preserved of the twelve gates (four Roman and eight medieval) that are counted by the defensive wall of Zaragoza. It was built in 1789 by the architect Agustín Sanz, and looks like a door The Arc de Triomphe, containing hardly any external decorative elements, was opened as a monument in 1927.
