Paseo Alegre is a romantic park with one of the most beautiful green spaces in Porto. It covers an area of about 41,000 square metres. It was designed in the late 19th century by architect Émile David. It is centuries old, and visitors can sit under the shades spread throughout the park and admire the place where the waters of the Douro River merge with the waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
