Kadirca Festival is the most famous of Turkey's celebrations; It is held on this plateau in the province of Trabzon. People from the four counties gather on it during the third week of July for three days of festivities. Some of the ceremonies point to a ritual origin from ancient and forgotten hostilities relating to the sensitive issue of demarcating the Yayla boundary between the different communities in the mountains.
