Information about Fuxing Barn
Fuxing Barn is an ancient historical barn dating back to the Middle Ages and the tribes that inhabited the city of Shangua. The barn was built in 1928 AD during the Japanese rule in the seventeenth year by the Farmers Association, and it was originally designed to store rice from different areas in Fuxing Town. The barn was the largest Japanese-style barn in central Taiwan, and was designated a historic site in 2003. The barn was distinguished by its special construction, incorporating ancient techniques using raw rice husks, rice straw and clay for its walls, and it was equipped with a rice mill room for production facilities.
