يعد حصن ساو جواو باتيستا دو بروم معلم مثير للاهتمام للمهتمين بالتاريخ والعسكر والأسلحة، فهذا الحصن تم بناؤه في القرن السادس عشر لحماية مدينة ريسيفي من هجمات القراصنة، وفي وقت لاحق تم بناء كنيسة القديس يوحنا المعمدان بروم التي أعطت اسم الحصن أيضًا، وهو الآن متحفٌ عسكريٌ، يضم حالياً مجموعة مثيرة للاهتمام من الأسلحة والصور والوثائق، ويظهر معظمها مشاركة البرازيل في الحرب العالمية الثانية. ويُعتبر الحصن اليوم نقطة مهمة تعكس تاريخ ريسيفي العسكري.
