The Fort Jesus Museum is located in the military fort of the same name, which was built by the Portuguese in the sixteenth century AD. It is considered one of the best tourist attractions in Mombasa, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This museum displays a collection of discoveries, archaeological remains, Omani jewelry, and some exhibits that tell a lot about Swahili life and others.
