The fort was built by the Portuguese in 1609 for the purpose of observing the movements through the waters and adjacent areas and the construction was finally completed in 1612. Since then and for more than 400 years this fort still stands tall! This sun overlooks the Arabian Sea, and it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the region, due to its eventful history, the wonderful view it provides, and the beauty of the natural areas that surround it. The fort has many towers, lots of rooms for soldiers, a small prison, an observation deck, and beautiful statues of several historical figures.
