Foya is the highest mountain in the Algarve region, with a height of 902 meters. It is located in the Serra de Monchique mountain range, and is widely popular for its stunning landscapes. On a clear day, you can see from its summit Cape Saint Vincent, the Atlantic Ocean in the west and the city of Faro In the east and Serra da Arrabida near Lisbon in the north, at its base can be found the oldest structure in the area: the ruins of the Convent of Our Lady of Restelo dating from 1632.
