Farmley is the official Irish state guest house, and formerly a residence of the Guinness family. The building is located high above the River Liffey to the northwest of Phoenix Park, and contains extensive gardens with a large number of forest trees such as cypresses and pines It also includes a boating pond, as well as a herd of rare indigenous Kerry cattle, which were purchased by the Government of Ireland in 1999.
