Information about Faid Historic City
The historic city of Fayd is the most prominent archaeological site in Hail. It is located along the pilgrimage route that extends between Baghdad and Mecca in the Zubaydah trail, which was developed by the wife of Harun al-Rashid. The city is frequented by many visitors, tourists and citizens. The city occupies a distinguished position in pre-Islamic times until the beginning of the eras of Islam, and the village consists of the ruins of a huge palace and a number of structures that can be identified as halls. There is a museum near the city. A permit is required from the General Authority for Tourism and Antiquities to access the entire site. Without the authority's permission, only the museum can be accessed.
