The Equestrian Club in Riyadh has been organizing thoroughbred horse racing for 53 years. It was officially established in 1965 corresponding to 1385 AH. The Race Course is the King Abdulaziz Equestrian Field located in the Al-Janadriya area, about 40 km northeast of Riyadh, near King Khalid International Airport. The amphitheater can accommodate 5,000 spectators. The racing season begins in Janadriyah at the end of September and continues until April. The events start in the evening of every Friday and Saturday. The race in the city of Taif takes place during the summer months and is usually in the evening of Fridays.
