This Ephesus Museum in Vienna, Austria displays antiquities from the city of Ephesus in Turkey. In the late nineteenth century, Austrian scholars, under the auspices of the newly established Austrian Archaeological Institute's Institute of Classical Archeology, began researching the ruins of Ephesus, where many high-quality objects had been recovered and transported to Vienna. which can be seen today in this museum. The Ephesus Museum houses a collection of Roman statues and architectural elements that once adorned magnificent buildings such as the thermal baths and the Great Theater of Ephesus. This museum is also an extension of the Kunsthistorisches Museum.
