The Eiffel Bridge was opened on June 30, 1878 in the era of iron architecture, it is a metal bridge designed by the famous architect Gustave Eiffel, and it replaced an old wooden bridge, and allowed the passage of the railways linking the regions of Pinto and d'Arc in Viana do Castelo, the bridge is 563 meters long and 6 meters wide, and it rises on nine square stone columns of granite, the infrastructure of which reaches 22 meters.
