Historically , this site was supported by the abbey church in the Middle Ages, however, the original church was destroyed in the mid-18th century era in order to build a new church that would be more consistent with the extensive urban planning efforts that were underway by Prince Charles Alexander From Lorraine, the current church was built over a period of 14 years, from 1776 to 1780, with the addition of the nave, the choir and the sugar, the church has a distinctive bell tower that draws the attention of visitors, and entry to the place is free.
