Information about Eger minaret
The Eger Minaret is one of the most prominent historical buildings dating back to the Ottoman rule in Europe. It was built shortly after the victory of the Turks in 1596. It belonged to the Katkhuda Mosque. This 40-meter-high minaret was made of red sandstone, and it has four Ten sides, after Imperial forces recaptured the Eiger in 1687, the townspeople tried to demolish it with 400 bulls, but were unsuccessful. Reaching the narrow balcony requires a climb of 97 small but high steps, but it is well worth the effort as it offers a unique panorama of the entire city from above.
