Located in Charleston, South Carolina, the historic Edmundston Alston House is one of the oldest homes in the city, and because of that is designated a private state-owned museum. The museum's collection consists of furniture, paintings, silver, books, and other possessions belonging to the family, which reflect not only the family's history, but all of American history.
