Dublin Castle was for nearly 700 years where the British dynasties were located while they were in the region. Today you can still see archaeological remains from the 13th century AD on organized tours. It has been used today and since the 1700s by the government at government events such as the inauguration of the Irish president and banquets for international guests. Its most well-known features are the Ladies' Hall, the Throne Room, and St. Patrick's Hall.
