Information about Double Minaret Madrasa
The madrasa with the double minaret is a historical Seljuk work that has today become a symbol of Erzurum, and is generally assumed to have been built at the end of the thirteenth century, when it was called the Khatunya Madrasah, with the belief that it may have been built by Hint Hatun, the daughter of the Seljuk Sultan Ala. Religion (Alaaddin). The madrasa, with an area of about 1,610 square metres, is the most important example of the two-storey group of schools, which includes four iwans and an open courtyard, surrounded by porticos on all four sides, and the rooms of students and teachers are lined up on both sides of the courtyard. Marvelous for the depth and aesthetic understanding of Seljuk stone decoration, mainly herbal elements were used for decoration.
